I travelled across the country and went to a wedding in the summer, and was *shocked* that I didn't get sick. But the wedding was important to me, so I was prepared for the potential risk.

Just like Disney is important for David and Kim, so they are cognizant of the risk they are taking. However, it was super weird that illness got them DURING the trip. That's still rare, and very unpleasant, and I hope they both recover quickly.
