so hey - if exercising is something that you are NOT doing but that could help with depression, may I suggest doing pilates? just google some that you can easily do at home for free ... they call it "mat" pilates OR - there was something in my facebook feed the other day about "wall pilates" ... not sure about it though as I have only done the pilates in the gym on machines. BUT - here's my point.
it is not difficult and it exercises all the little muscles in your body all over and you'll have muscle fatigue - but it gets better quickly with twice weekly work outs even. and you'll slowly notice a difference in your build where the muscles elongate - they aren't "bunchy and bulky" - and you'll gain flexibility and balance and strength and it's even at times light cardio. And all of those are great too. But the best thing is - the stress reduction. it's all quite subtle - you don't even realize how your body and mind are changing and getting better. And then ... you'll put your arm on your back to adjust your shirt - or tug on your jeans or something - and you'll feel it ... it's different ... and you'll notice it in the mirror ... the change is slow but noticable after just a few weeks.
just give it a try ... and I find it best in the morning for me - but do what works for you - and let me know if you find it as helpful as I have.
