people can do whatever they want, of course (as long as it's legal and not tootoo stoopid ;) -) - not even judging those choices that much, i just never got it.
i remember similar happenings with another online group i used to be part of (and went to las vegas gatherings for) years ago. it mostly made me, "huh" -- so you lose control, sometimes feel/get sick, and tell stories and compete based on all the "fun" of that?
share: i've never been drunk (there was a champagne-tipsy in there when i was young, but that was the closest). i never started drinking any kind of regularly after learning very young about brain cells being killed by alcohol and that they don't regenerate. even periodic attempts to have a "healthy" bit of wine regularly have sputtered for me. i wasn't really worried about addiction, though i know what horribleness it can bring; but the rest... haven't ever gotten to the point that it's worth it. (i do like a lovely cocktail every so often; but that's rare and limited, and life would go on just fine without them. it's been ~3 years since i had any alcohol, mostly because of post-accident stuff, but *shrug*.)
