This morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski informed their audience that they traveled to Mar-a-Lago over the weekend to grovel and congratulate Donald Trump. Around the same time, Donald Trump appeared on Fox to boast about Joe and Mika bending the knee, kissing his ring at Mar-a-Lago, and telling him how great his campaign was.
This is a disgrace. But it’s not surprising.
Joe and Mika are paid big bucks by corporate media. MSNBC is owned by NBC Universal, which is owned by Comcast. Over the weekend, Donald Trump appointed Brendan Carr to Chair the Federal Communications Commission—after Carr called for NBC and others to lose their broadcast licenses. Corporate media is in it for the money, not for we the people. If they think it will keep them in their mansions and private jets, they will happily normalize fascism and become agents of it.
In addition to attacking the media using Hitler-esque language, Trump has personally attacked and threatened Joe and Mika before in deeply personal ways. But I guess Joe and Mika made a personal calculation: between a modicum of self-respect, dignity, and love of country—or the perception of preserving their lucrative contracts with their corporate benefactors—they chose the perception or facade of business as usual.
Well, I hate to break it to you, Joe and Mika: you compromise it all when you compromise yourself like this. Shameful stuff, you two.
As for us, MeidasTouch will never bend the knee. We will never submit. We will never obey. You will have to rip me away from my camera and throw me in a gulag—and muzzle my mouth (double sealed)—to get me to stop speaking the truth. My stakeholders are the people. My North Star is the Constitution.
Stop watching corporate media and become a paid subscriber to MeidasTouch Network now. We have zero outside investors and need you now more than ever.
