Or per the title card: Interior. Chinatown
It's kind of the meta take that it appears to be but I'm still trying to follow just how meta as it kind of swerves just when I thought that I had it all sorted.
Tucked in with all of entertainment is a sometimes subtle and sometimes absolutely not subtle commentary on the role of Asian actors in Hollywood as well as the roles that they're allowed. I guess to be fair, even some the non-Chinese roles are boiled down to their most basic sterotypes.
Jimmy Yang is amazing as the lead and Ronny Chieng is doing his best scene stealing.
Chloe Bennet is pretty. Kind of the nature of her role that she doesn't get to have the character that they guys have. Which is actually another one of those commentaries being made by the show.
