Ford also purchased Land Rover and then sold both of them to Tata who is the ultimate owner for Jaguar Land Rover (A British company!)

I've been following ;-)
The hope was that Ford would bring mechanical reliability to Jaguar but the brand didn't sell enough so hence the sale.
In like a reverse of the splintering of the British empire, the Indian company purchases the British brands from the Americans and establishes JLR as a fully English company to carry on the Jaguar and Land Rover brands
