You can turn off aging, which I definitely did.

Oh, I just started a new character with the same name. Still, I wasn't even a half-hour into the game, yet it harshly reminded me of the way gaming once was.
The character died. I tried to revive them at the temple. They turned to ash. I tried again. They were gone gone gone. It happened fast.
Now that I've got level 10 characters, which is like a six-hour grind, I've got backups of backups.
