I'm so old that the whole raw dogging idea was just flying to me.
My typical flight:
-Find seat.
-Arrange carry-on
-Fasten seat belt
--Look at safety card
---Check for nearest exit. Note direction and count rows to exit.
-50-50 I'm conscious for take off.
---If awake try to watch lift enhancement devices (flaps, slats) on the wing if I can see them.
-Randomly wake up. Check time / flight status. Go back to sleep
-My asleep self can usually sense the start of the descent so while I might be asleep through one of the most dangerous parts of a flight, I'm typically awake for landing so hey, that's one out of two.
-Start listening for various flight surfaces to move.
---Watch wing if visible
--Listen for gear to lower and lock
-Enjoy the landing.
