Nah, it was crappy marketing. People weren't tired of hand drawn animation, they were tired of crappy hand-drawn animated *stories*. No one bothered

to market IG in a way that showed it wasn't crap.

It's possible audiences were predisposed to ignore it because it wasn't Pixar, but decent marketing could have overcome that.
