Ok, I remember that to some degree, but I don't remember it so much as a (spoil)

full on war. When I read the book, the part that was the biggest impact was the death of Dumbledore and Harry v. Snape on the way out. I though that scene was done reasonably well. I didn't really miss the battle. I think all the films are constrained somewhat by the medium. The time just isn't available to tell everything in detail. To some extent they rely on your knowledge of the books to fill in the blanks, which is why some of the changed material to me was awkward.
