suddenly caught a case of the stupids or something.
The funniest part of that is, Medicare started allowing private insurance companies to participate insuring these people about 10 years ago. The plans are set up as HMOs with a gatekeeper physician, prior authorizations for hospitalizations, surgerys and specialists and rampant denials under the HMO rules. Then Grandma has a shit fit because she can't go see any doctor she wants and she's the one who signed up in the first place after the Insurance group offered a free dinner at Denny's and gave a presentation on the plan, only emplasizing the free eye exam they'd get once a year.
