It all comes down to patterns and pattern-recognition. Some people get stuck in them.

for example, I'm stuck a pattern where the first thing I do is get up and go on ST until I'm late for work.
It's never made me more than 30 minutes late, but late is late. My company may be lenient about that sort of thing, but I really need to kick myself in the ass and avoid being lenient on myself.
