honestly, I'd say you need to go further afield if you want to avoid touristy. but in hawaii, the big island would probably be the best.

it's... well, big. and sparsely populated, so easiest to get away from people. the other islands are nice, but I wouldn't call any of them 'not touristy.' except niihau, but nobody goes there anyway.
