Doctors are very good at putting the pieces together and solving problems

It sounds like she's been through a lot but these tests will lead to something. If you don't mind my asking, who is the doctor/hospital helping her? My doctor was a great help, as was my local hospital, but they couldn't handle a case like mine. I'm alive today because of the doctors at Mass General. Worry about the monetary costs later - if you need to get to a better hospital or get the opinions of specialists, get them. The doctors probably are, but ask if they're sharing the results with other doctors to get their ideas. There were two courses of action for me, and it was a conference call with some of the best surgeons in the field weighing in that determined which way they would go. Your doctor may not have an answer, but a doctor in Timbuktu might have dealt with something similar...you never know.
Hang in there and keep positive thoughts. They're more important than people realize.
