Natural is preferred. Once a woman has a c-section she usually has to have all her future children that way too.

Doctors have been doing c-sections much too often over the last few years.
Responses:
there's a new trend of VBAC delivery, but it's dangerous -- nm

Not true. Doctors love C-sections because they get paid more for them.

They're also easier to schedule and take less time. But there are more risks and some doctors don't like that. -- nm

There are a lot of good doctors who don't do unnecesary c-sections, but there are a lot more who would rather just dispense with any sort of natural

I've read about that and it is dangerous and most doctors refuse to perform them. -- nm

Yes, some out-of-date doctors don't like to do them, but other than that the risks are greatly overstated. -- nm

That's not true. It's far safer than it used to be, and overall it's no riskier than a cesarean. Depending on why the c-sect was done previously,

I've read the opposite. I've heard it's dangerous and not likely to be performed.

I really think it depends on the reasons for the first C-section.

I stand corrected, it appears 90% of women who've had a c-section can have a vbac delivery.

Well, anyway, in the cases where a C-section is actually medically necessary, VBAC would be ill-advised.

Again, not really true. It depends on a lot of factors.

Definitely, sometimes they are certainly medically necessary, no doubt. -- nm
