STIC: this weekend is our ninth Sit-A-Thon, and if any of you would like to contribute, it would mean the world to me.

For those who don't know, I am the president and founder of a small all-volunteer charity in RI called the Obscure Company, and every year we run a Sit-A-Thon to benefit Camp Hope (a RI summer camp for child cancer patients, similar to the Hole In The Wall camps, and run by the American Cancer Society). Attendance at Camp Hope is free for every child, but it costs approximately $700 per kid to cover all the expenses, including having nurses on staff, pediatric oncologists on call, etc. Since 2006, we have provided Camp Hope with $18,000 in support to keep them going strong and able to accomodate any child who wants to go.
A Sit-A-Thon is like a walkathon, except our volunteers sit for ten consecutive hours all day this Saturday. Anything you could do to support the cause would be greatly appreciated. You can donate directly online via JustGive (a non-profit PayPal like service, set up especially for non-profit use so that transaction fees are reinvested in charities instead of lining PayPal's pockets), or if you don't have the money right now, you can enter a pledge online to submit at a later date. Y'all have been wonderfully supportive in the past, and I appreciate anything you can contribute this year. You guys rule in the face.
