you could get closer to thing in a quieter way than an air plane (like animals on the savanna for example)
it would be slower and youd have to stop more to experience the area
its less involved (i think) than flying an airplane, so you could read or write, etc.
Responses:
i believe they have to do it at very high altitudes, so the view isn't what you're imagining -- nm
