But isn't that in itself a stereotype? Are there not crafty people in South Africa?
Mind you, I only know the local socioeconomic culture at a high level. Unemployment in ZA is high, and underemployment is even higher. Thus there is a lot of crime. But, they are the most advance/developed economy in that area, by far, so they do see an influx of people from other nations. Therefore, Nigerian scams/gangs might be common there, and this is just a reflection of the reality? I can't say for certain.
