Sure, why not.

Mr. [nubby],

My name is Wendy [...], and I am Amber [...]'s mother. Your e-mail
correspondence with her is being forwarded to you for a reference. I am
not sure of your intent, but you come off as being a little sarcastic, which
I don't appreciate. I realize that situations such as this may arise, but I
don't think that students who sign up for classes in a timely manner should
be told that they are being moved to another class the night before classes
begin. I can appreciate the fact that classes overflow, but if you're going
to have another class, it should be at a comparable time, not one in the
morning and one at night. The whole purpose of students making their
schedules out in a timely manner is so they can accomodate work and other
activities that require advance planning. If you want to administratively
move students to the night class, you might want to consider moving the ones
who signed up last for the class, who live on or near campus and who are not
seniors who have to have the class as part of their major requirements.
Regardless, students who respectfully ask that their requests be considered
should not be responded to in such a disrespectful way. Again, that may
have not been your intent, but that is the way it came across. I would
appreciate your leaving her in the morning class as it stands. At this late
date, she shouldn't have to rearrange her schedule just because too many
students were allowed to sign up for one class. I do not make it a habit of
inserting myself into my daughter's academic scheduling, because at this
point, she is an adult and can work out her own issues. However, in this
instance, I felt compelled to make my feelings known. I did not teach her
to be disrespectful, and I think her response to your e-mail was very clear
in its meaning and respectfully related to you. I would think she deserves
the same courtesy.

Thank you.
