I wonder if the MLBPA will actually alter the draft given that it seems a lot of its membership is in favor of slotting draft pick compensation.

baseball's draft fiscal sanity is still better than the NFL's, which is sad.

Yeah, they have a 'guideline' and you need Selig to bless the over-slots....but like 60% of the 1st rounders were over slot this year. -- nm

Yes, there is. Teams need approval to spend above slot.
