The only other thing I remember about Access is that it doesn't allow for a lot of concurrency.

And oracle ... is the opposite of Access, really. It's pretty much Big Iron software; shit interfaces, but complete work-horse code. Concurrency out the yinyang, tons of options for live backups and replication, it's a beast.

You would be ill-advised to use an Access database for a web interface back end .. but an Oracle database is behind a lot of major websites. There's a reason Ellison can afford his yachts.
