I'm not sure I could have pulled the chute on my own. They tell you to count to ten after you jump and if your chute isn't open you should pull the reserve chute. I couldn't count. Also, the reserve chute was essentially automatic too (if you reached a certain altitude at a certain speed it would open automatically).
