speaking of voicemail, can we talk about outgoing messages? I have noticed a growing trend among my friends to have the auto-greeting.

computer voice: "you have reached (eight one four eight eight zero zero nine three eight). please leave a message."
I haven't asked anyone why, but I imagine they'd say it's more professional.
what are your thought on this? which do you use?

I've noticed a sudden surge in accents which sound horrible on the phone. At least at my workplace, hence folks switched -- nm

If you called my house phone you'd laugh. Britney did our outgoing message back in 2002.

I believe that's the default message. It means you're friends are too lazy to change it -- nm
