well it's a IBM RAID 5 array from about 1995

not a PC system but a Server system...

it's not cheap but it's only the data you need to protect and data IS the most valuable in any compagny it's often also a cheap instalation really, it runs often for very long time and is made from good components

Hot swap is often porpitary and so (logic dictates) is hot spare both are not esential but in an enviroment without a compatent IT department it is easier to control since it's pritty easy to get back on-line and the repair can be made later
