At the time, I thought it was heating, but it was 75 outside so it could have just been the fan.

I didn't see flame when I looked at the furnace. It did run on the old thermostat.
I'm mostly worried that I either have the red wire "wrong" somehow, or that the white wire is the problem, but I don't know which. I'm going to jiggle them and make sure everything is making contact, but after that it's out of my league.
