Go to the link below and do some watching and reading. It's "staph" btw, short for Staphylococcus. You don't have to go to the trouble of a major house cleaning (I'm trying to save you some time and trouble) it normally lives on your skin. When we have kids with this at our practice, normally the docs will either treat them empiracally for 3 months with oral antibiotics, or they'll have the parents apply an antibiotic ointment inside their nose 2 times a day. It's pretty contagious, so lots and lots of hand washing works better than just about anything. Good luck :)
