It's an interesting thought puzzle. Was Hitler so important to the Nazi movement that removing him would have eliminated their threat?

What would that have meant for Stalin? Would we have had better or worse relations if we'd never fought together against the Germans?
Would Japan's actions in China been dealt with? Would Pearl Harbor even have occurred?
