lyc: My mother usually donates a little bit of money every year to the diabetes camp I attended. Camp is pretty pricey - a 2 week overnight session

costs $1200-ish. My mother's company does double matching, so usually she will try to donate enough to cover a child's camp fee once the company match is applied. This has become a yearly thing and she doesn't think too much of it.

Today she forwarded me a copy of a "thank you email" she received from the parent of the child who was able to go to camp this year thanks to that donation. I don't know why this one email got to me, but it got me all choked up. Maybe it's because I remember having the feeling that her daughter had when she found out she would be able to go to camp this year. (We were always a financial aid family...)

It was possibly the nicest way to end my day. It made me all warm and fuzzy.

(lyc, I know.)
