Out of my daughter's class of 16, only 4 watched Obama's speech.

Unfortunately, the teacher told the kids that even if they were allowed to watch it (the school allowed parents to opt their kids out) they didn't have to if they didn't want to.
E. watched it because I told her she had to. One of the other kids was daughter of an Obama organizer from during the campaign. I doubt the other two girls willingly chose to skip recess to see it.

It's funny. I saw Newt on Today this morning. All of a sudden he was for having kids watch the speech - after he actually read it.
