abby's been getting up a lot in the middle of the night - usually she opens her door, comes down the hall into our room.
last night at 2:30 am, i hear some movement in her room. i'd caught her trying to come out of her room right after we put her to bed, so i thought she was milling around trying to get the courage to come and see us.
i start to hear sounds coming down the hall, and i keep waiting for her to poke her head through the door, but that doesn't happen.
then the sounds are back in her room. then, a few minutes later, they're coming from downstairs. so i figure she's made her way down the pitch-black stairwell to the main floor.
i get up to go to her room. the door is shut, which is odd. i open it and she's *fast asleep in her bed* - just snoring away.
and i can still hear something downstairs.
so i go back and tell heather to grab the phone, then over the course of the next 10 minutes make my way downstairs.
i do 2 complete laps through the main floor, turning no every light i can find, peeking around every corner -
nothing.
doors & windows are locked, nothing is disturbed.....
i didn't sleep for the rest of the night.
heather and i both heard those footsteps. or whatever it was.
so yeah, thanks for the trailer.
