SheFox's mom was giving her a ration of shit on the phone about me not proposing given that she was pregnant, and SheFox was defending me, saying "we don't have to get married right this second just because I'm pregnant, we can do it right" and so on, but eventually hangs up on her absolutely devastated, and I realized the only way I could console her without giving away that I had the ring already was to lie and pretend we weren't, and why would I let her cry like that just so I could do things my way? So I got the ring and proposed. (With a "Promise me that you will believe me when I say that I am not just doing this because you are crying, ok?") :)
