I assume the official investigation into whether it was true self defence is ongoing, but it sounds like it was a clear case.

Sad that the burglar-turned-attacker died, but for whatever reason, he made the choice to behave in the way he did. I don't think he really deserved to die for it, but self-preservation and self-defence is an important right.
I wouldn't condemn the video store for their offer, even though it's a little bit of profit-whoring.
