i agree that it *should* be true *until* i hear most people's arguments, which are either a) too angry at some wing of the system (usually the insurers) to actually make reasonable sense, b) compassionate to a fault (i.e. costs are nowhere near as important as hugging every grandmother on earth with medical love, we'll find the money eventually), or c) just horribly mistaken.
there are exceptions to these buckets, but i'd be more inclined to agree that it shouldn't be controversial if i thought more people's opinions made sense.
