She should get a Hercules--it's only slightly larger than most netbooks, comes with Win 7 preloaded, double the harddrive and a gig of memory.

If she feels like she REALLY needs MS Office, go check out open office. You only download the pieces you need, like word and spreadsheets or get the whole package. Best part is, it's free. I've used it exclusively for the last year and love it.
