For its part, BBC America has just made the decision-making even more complicated with Occupation, a heavyweight U.K. import tracking the lives of three British Iraqi war vets who struggle to re-assimilate into civilian life and ultimately get brought back into the fight.
Premiering in the U.K. in June and lauded by local critics as one of the decades best dramas, Occupation stars James Nesbitt, a ubiquitous presence on the other side of the pond. Nesbitt plays Mike Swift, a man whose marriage unravels at home as fever-pitched as relationship drama gets in some scenes - as he seeks to return to occupied Iraq and re-unite with the doctor he had an affair with.
Stephen Graham and Warren Brown star as the buddies who have their own sordid reasons for returning to life during wartime.
gets a big thumbs up from me.
