Oh fun. I just had to ask our QA Manager for the name of his supervisor.

He has the new job of overseeing one aspect of my job. He is telling me I need to do something differently than how the last guy required. That would be fine, except I believe he is wrong. I asked him why he thinks this new way. The reason? It's not because of a standard we could all point to and defer to as needed. It's just his opinion on how things should be done.
Which also would be fine, except what if he goes on vacation and I need someone else to step in and do the approvals while he's gone? (e.g. the aforementioned supervisor). Will that person have yet another different set of rules based on *their* own opinion? And what would happen if one of our customers decide they want to come in and review our records. They are going to see different entries done in different ways.
I told him I think he is getting his rules on whimsy, because he could produce no standard he is basing his procedures on.
The way this effing company is run, I swear. End rant.
