I think Hyatt had a moral obligation to work with the housekeepers to try and keep any who wanted to stay.

I worked for a company that outsourced its IT dept. Everyone had an option to go to work for the contractor. Not everyone took the job (because of low pay and no benefits) but at least anyone who wanted to stay working could. Hyatt basically just threw everyone out. That's a moral issue for me.
Additionally, the state will now be picking up healthcare costs for both the fired workers (after the end of the year) and the contractors, since Massachusetts requires everyone to carry insurance and subsidizes for those who can't afford it.
