Poll: you're having a baby, and you get hand-me-down clothes from a few people. A year later, one of those people asks for the clothes back to sell.

(taking them to a consignment shop, I guess.) You try to guess which things were from them, but they comment after going through it that it mostly looks like other people clothes.
On a scale of 1-10, how reasonable is this? and as a follow-up, what is your next step? Invite them over to go through all the old clothes and take whatever they recognize?

possibly that person is in financial difficulty and is searching for ways to get some money, otherwise that's pretty jerky. -- nm

Very unreasonable and I tell them it's too late the clothes are gone. You handed them down to someone else.

If they wanted the clothes for a new arrival of their own, then fair enough. But for sale? They have already given them to you. -- nm

1 = very unreasonable; not sure what I'd do ("sorry, gave them away" or "had to throw them out") -- nm

If they did not tell you upfront, totally unreasonable.
