I suggested sending the following e-mail:

"Hey, sorry I'm having trouble figuring out which items you gave me. We got some hand-me-downs from a few different people all around the same time, and so it's very difficult to tell where things came from anymore. If you wanted to come by and go through the clothes she's outgrown, you'd probably do a better job of recognizing what clothes came from you as opposed to someone else. Unfortunately this puts me in a tough position because if anyone else comes back needing their old clothes back, I don't want to tell them I already gave them all away. Do you want to come by some night and go through it all?"
