its a version of a pot luck, most eq books say tacky but its common in the midwest and working poor areas

frankly I'd rather bring my own than skip cheap swill.
a couple years ago there was this thing bout 2buck chuck being much better than the price, but that was then, I was just at a wedding, at a fancy house, caterered the whole works and they served 2buck chuck..wtf
the main problem is when folks bring their own they tend to drink too much, so plan to leave early
