In any case, a drink is a drink. Only an asshole presumes a free drink earns him anything but a smile and a "thank you"*. So accepting one without any intentions of providing anything else isn't 'disingenuous'. Assuming otherwise is just playing by the asshole's rules!
*okay, maybe a little polite conversation too. Like the free coffee at a car dealership. You get a drink, but at least have to listen to the sales pitch. But that's all!
