We didn't get the Olympics. But he got facetime with other leaders. I hear he met with Gen. McChrystal while he was there.
So it wasn't a waste of time.
It's possible that the last minute decision to go was a result of wanting to do some back-room, off the record glad handing to push his Afghan agenda. Or Iran agenda. Or who knows what else.
