I know I've had this conversation with ST before, but perhaps it was not with you.

I will be in [insert location, in this case Hong Kong] for approximately three weeks. In that time I will eat 3 meals per day usually, though sometimes two. In all, I will eat over 50 meals while I am here. Some of those meals will certainly be of the local cuisine, but many of these meals will also consist of things like Subway or sandwiches/salads from placed like 7-11.
When I first took this job, I engaged in eating and enjoying the local cuisine every meal. In 2-3 months, I gained back 20 of the pounds I had lost at that point. I won't allow that to happen again. Not only do I want to avoid gaining back weight, I still have a few pounds to lose.
There are certainly healthy Chinese food options, and I'll find them (as I've noted, I'm not very up-to-speed on Chinese cuisine). But I will also eat Americanized food I know to be healthy, and I will feel zero guilt for it. Remember, this isn't vacation for me, I do this for a living. I can't eat like I'm vacation every day.
Or, in short: I do live a little.
