The 9mil in savings can go toward Bay's re-signing and you get more quality for a guy you'll lose.
The Angels wanted to face Papelbon, that's a bad sign for him in relation to Bard.
even for the Sox, 9mil in savings for even if, 95% of the performance is too valuable to pass up.
