I would say that it could, which is where it gets tricky.

at some level the history of the franchise is inseparable from the culture of the team, and the attitude of the city, to be sure. So while I was happy for "Red Sox Nation" when they won that first one, I do raise a bit of an eyebrow at a 20 year old Red Sox fan feeling like some great burden was lifted from him.
I also don't really have a problem with, say, a Yankees fan pointing to 26 WS pennants, especially since they've won recently - if they were in a 15 year drought like they've had, then it gets kind of stale. basically there's probably some sort of formula based on #of years since title, # of titles and age of fan that varies based on general annoyingness.:)
This idea occured to me in seeing some Oilers fans talk about their experience with the team. I came to my fandom very early and was there for all the Cups, while others a little younger than me and less precocious don't have those years to hang on to - for them the Oilers have always been mediocre, and even Gretzky is kind of a distant persona like Bart Starr to a Packers fan.
