I was considering that, but I figure this is my first attempt at an dSLR.

Once I get the hang of it, I'll upgrade to one that also records video (and hopefully those will be a bit cheaper by then).
Responses:
You'll be very happy with it. 6MP is plenty for up to 8x10 prints. No problem there. And be careful of the video
