UV can cause haze or bluishness, especially in the mountains. it's not something I'd use all the time, but they have a point. -- nm

cheap UV's cause far more haze and loss of contrast than the haze they try to prevent, most lenses have UV built in - zeitgeist Oct 13, 12:21 2
