I live in an area where the max speed I can get is advertised as 4 mbps down. reality is much less than that. my *wired* roku sputters sometimes.

and I also live, now, in hotels. my cohort and I have compared notes: it's uncommon to be able to stream tv or roku over a hotel connection.

so unless everyone gets competent internet? the DVD is necessary.
