It wasn't like it was timed down to the hundredth of a second.
And if Oswald is shooting, you pop the guy when he's driving right at you...there's zero reason to wait till he's now driving angularly away from you.
Either Oswald was either incredibly skilled with that rifle, picked the time of his life to be lucky as hell, or he's the dumbest shooter you can imagein.
