First of all -- WHAT THE ****!?
What the hell kind of childhood did you have? Were you raised in some sort of unreality pod? Were you even a kid -- or did you just emerge as this tight-ass neo-con without any sense of imagination or fun?
You not only missed the point of this movie as a whole -- but you don't even seem coherent enough to grasp the basic actions going on in several scenes.
For example -- here's a bit of your tripe:
"...and promptly falls asleep at the table, ignoring Max once again. Max smiles a sinister, devilish smirk as the credits roll."
OH COME ON -- you've GOT to be kidding me! The mother had been up worrying about him -- and once he's home and safe -- closes her eyes and falls asleep. "Ignoring Max once again." LOL -- what a dumbass!! And if that was a "sinister, devilish smirk" I'll eat my goddamn shoes. He was glad to be home and understood how much his mother loved him and was worried about him.
I guess you've got your own smirk showing right now -- and probably your own wolf suit too -- because you are so not a movie critic. You're just another right-wing agenda pusher in the guise of an internet journalist.
"The sorry state of American education ... " indeed -- when a complete moron like yourself gets taken seriously in the slightest.
And God help your kids if you have them. I'm guessing frequent trips to the ER and visits from Social Services are in their bleak futures -- what with your firm belief in beating children and all.
"Oorah!" indeed.
